Dr. Jackline “Bess” Ngalame is a dual certified nurse practitioner in family practice and in psychiatry. She works with children, adults , and geriatric clients ages five (5) and up. She is passionate about mental health and addiction medicine. She enjoys helping her clients attain a stable mental state, by empowering them through motivational interviewing. Her motto is a simple one “a problem shared is half solved.” She enjoys working with individual clients, couples, and families.

Her expertise is in diagnosing and treating Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar disorders, ADHD, Substance Misuse/Abuse/ Dependency/ or Use Disorders, Trauma and PTSD, Gender Dysphoria, Issues of identity, Obesity, Weight Loss, Low Self-Esteem, Personality Disorders, and a whole host of other mental health conditions Her approach is holistic in nature. In understanding clients goals-she works with clients to find ways to deal with life stressors on their overall health and improve their day to day functioning.
Her treatment approach is holistic, individualized, evidence-based driven. Above all, her treatment approach is client-centered. Medications are not always the answer to life’s problems. But, when indicated, she does educate clients on the available options based on each clients goals for treatment, so that each client can make an informed decision about their healthcare. She provides “Talk therapy” to those clients who wish to only engage in therapy alone. She guides clients on making life style modifications to improve their overall physical and mental wellbeing.
Dr. Ngalame works and collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed, make referrals as indicated to other members of the healthcare team when appropriate.
Her favorite quote is one by Maya Angelou, “They may forget your name. But, they may never forget how you made them feel.” With this, she values every client that entrusts her with their care, and works diligently to ensure her clients needs are met by building a therapeutic alliance during the evaluation phase, and building on this as treatment proceeds.
She continues to take steps daily to stay abreast with up to date and new treatments/recommendations to better serve her clients.
